About Us
Forgotten Felines, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, feline exclusive rescue located in Huntsville, Alabama.
OUR MISSION
Forgotten Felines, Inc. is dedicated to rescuing and finding loving homes for abandoned and feral cats in the Huntsville area. Our organization has a rich history of providing care, shelter, and medical attention to these forgotten felines. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of these cats and the community through rescue, adoption, and TNR.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR, is an approach to managing community cat populations (unowned cats). Cats are humanely trapped by volunteers and brought to a local veterinarian where they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. TNR cats are also ear-tipped - a clip of the left ear tip as a universal sign that the cat has been spayed or neutered as part of a TNR program. Once they have recovered from surgery, they are returned to the outdoor homes in which they were found.
You may notice that some of our adoptable cats have been ear-tipped. While most cats trapped for TNR are able to survive in their community, some cats that come to us are not fit for outdoor living due to illness or injury, or they are simply too sweet to live a life without human companionship. These cats join our foster homes until we can find them the perfect forever home.
TNR is made possible through donations and the support of our community!
Sanctuary Cats
Occasionally, a cat comes along who cannot be adopted or TNR'd due to illness, age, or temperament. These cats join our foster homes as sanctuary cats. As a sanctuary cat, they receive the medical care and love they deserve until they cross the rainbow bridge.
Our rescue currently houses more than 100 sanctuary cats like Jerome (right). The food, supplies, and medical care for these cats are made possible through donations from the community.
